What a fabulous story! You've left me genuinely longing for more; so brilliant. I actually happened to listen to a talk just yesterday by Ian Mortimer at the Gloucester History Festival about his theory that Edward didn't die in 1327 - fascinating that it should come up again in your story! Do let me know if you ever continue it.

That is so kind!

I would love to go the Gloucester Festival - I am hoping the dates work out next spring!

I am solidly in Ian Mortimer’s camp. My second language is Italian and I have spent an abnormal amount of time reading Genovese documents. There are enough ties to the area throughout Edward II’s reign and secretive jaunts to the Continent by Edward III's trusted men to simply discount the Fieschi letter at face value.

I hated omitting this from my current WIP, but it is really focused on the de Clare sisters, not on their husbands. So I think it will become my next project now that the de Clare book is in editing mode. Thank you for the encouragement!
